I was just notified that the gathering on November 1st at the Large Flagpole next to Baskin & Robbins in Grants Pass has been cancelled. Sorry for the short notice and confusion.
I want to wish every veteran a Blessed Veteran’s Day and thank you for your service and sacrifice. There are many celebrations this month to celebrate you, so please take advantage of them. I want to thank Robert Fleishman for sharing the picture of Gary Sinise after he presented him with a Vietnam Medallion. While Gary did not personally serve, he did more than most to support veterans and their families with his Foundation and support for Snowball Express and many other efforts.
I want to call attention to the item in the newsletter seeking all your help to recruit during the month of November. I am putting financial rewards out of my own pocket to incentivize our efforts to recruit. The attached application can be used or you can go to our chapter website and sign people up in any membership category to help us and NCOA in this effort.
Finally, Wreaths Across America is in the final laps for this year’s event. We need to do better than the 3,500 wreaths that were gotten for our local Eagle Point VA Cemetery last year. They have over 27,400 graves so we have a lot of work to do. Many of you belong to multiple veteran and civic organizations and I implore you to get on board to support this effort. Each wreath only costs $17 and would recognize the life, service and sacrifice of a veteran interred there. We also need every able-bodied person available on December 13th to help in the placement of the wreaths obtained.
