Happy 246th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps on November 10th. Semper Fidelis to all Marines, for once a Marine, always a Marine! Also, November 11th is Veterans Day, a day when all that have served their country in the armed forces are acknowledged and thanked for their service. November also marks the celebration of Thanksgiving when we as a nation come together as a family and show thanks for all that we as a nation and as individuals have.
We have been involved with the PCI project for a few months now. We have tried to get the word out via all social media platforms, the NCOAdvocate, our website and via email to leadership and chapters that no one is required to purchase anything and we just need people to confirm their information by calling the toll-free number provided in the email that was sent out and/or the small yellow postcard sent out. Once again, this project is not a scam and is helping the association clean-up our membership records. Members have a tendency to change email addresses, phone numbers and contact addresses and fail to update their member files. Without a good email address, you will not receive the NCOAdvocate or other important information that can impact your lives. Please be kind to our staff and remain professional when contacting headquarters!
To date only a handful of members have stepped up to help man committees. I want to thank Ted Pilihos, Tammy Sullivan, Gerald Morey, Dave Marston and Robert Barnett for offering to help. The 5 year Strategic Plan can be the tool to keep NCOA relevant as a military service organization. It will help us procure funding so that we can expand and strengthen staff to better serve you. It will allow us to obtain better benefits that will improve your quality of life and it will give us the tools to make a significant impact on our armed forces and all who have already served as well as their families. If you have at least 1 hour a month to help and have the skills or experience needed, please contact either myself or Joe Terry.
Finally, our NCOA recruiting goal that will run until our next conference is 1200 new members from any category of membership. There will be Visa cards as prizes if we recruit a minimum of 1,000 new members. Do your part and recruit at least one new member and you will be entered into the contest. You just need to put E1R1 2022 on the application where it says promo code and you will be entered. We are over 12% of the way to our target. For the holidays coming up, sign up a family member for only $20 and help NCOA grow.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, either contact headquarters or contact me at retiredveteran89@outlook.com and I can assure you that your leadership will take note.
